Paintings" gives the ship's name as
"Scottish Chieftain" but other sources including Bowen give it as "Scottish Chief".
The naming of the ship in the
painting would originate with the artist. Another
anomaly, is Bowen giving the name
of the artist as "R.R. Spencer" when the
painting is by "R.B. Spencer"
